Very pleased to finally see the blue tits fledged out-and-about in the garden! I’ve counted a clutch of 6 fledglings, each of which are sticking close together and still relying heavily on their parents. This is a dangerous time for them as they learn to avoid predators and find food for themselves, but I hope to watch them grow over the coming weeks.
A handful of pied wagtail chicks have recently fledged which has given me the opportunity to lie still on the lawn and take some photos. Its a great time of year when the fledglings come out a show off their impressively loud begging calls, and I'm sure I'll see many more over the next couple of weeks!
