It has been a while since I last uploaded to the blog and in the mean time spring has been well underway, with even the latest of trees finally beginning to bud and the first swallow being spotted! While walking along the river and seeing the geese performing their iconic balance act in the low light, I was surprised to see a juvenile blackbird hiding in the undergrowth. However, as is the case every year, one of the most prominent things for me at this time of the year is the presence of the red kites repairing and guarding their nest. The position of the lime tree in which they nest means that the evening sun perfectly lights up their rich plumage come sunset, a photographer’s dream when taking photos of birds in flight.
